NASL soccer. It’s a kick in the grass!

The 2014 NASL season kicked off in Fort Lauderdale with the Strikers playing host to the expansion Ottawa Fury. The boys defended the Fort with a 2-0 victory over the visitors from north of the border.

SoFloRadio.com is proud to bring you every Strikers home game live again this season. The voice of Strikers is life-long Striker Liker Bruce Silverman. The Strikers were not good hosts keeping the Fury scoreless. Fort Lauderdale scored in each half with midfielder Mark Anderson playing key roles on both goals. At the 13 minute mark in the first, Anderson started the scoring with a free kick assist on the Rafael Alves goal. In the second, defender Darnell King lead a two on one rush with Anderson and King put the rebound right-footer past Fury keeper Devala Gorrick to put the Strikers up 2-0 at the 80 minute mark.

Next up for the Lockhart boys is the Railhawks in Carolina on April 19. The following weekend the Strikers will be back home playing host to the other NASL expansion team, Indy Eleven.

SoFloRadio.com will have all the coverage of the Strikers-Eleven game stating at 7:30p EST on April 26.
