Sometimes I do a radio show because it needs to be done right. Sometimes there are subjects that are more important that sports. Sometimes those subjects blend into sports. Tonight’s show was all of the above.
I am a pro-gay rights and pro-gay marriage supporter. I brought on three different gentleman that represent three different angles to the same goal.
Chris Kluwe is a punter for the Minnesota Vikings. Recently he wrote a scathing blog referencing the myopic statements by a Maryland state delegate Emmett C. Burns. Kluwe is elegant and passionate about equal rights and is position as a straight NFL player speaks volumes to the progress being made to further gay rights in the pro sports community.
Cyd Zeigler is the editor of OutSports.com and it was great to have him back on the show to talk about Kluwe’s comments, the state of gay-rights in the United States, Chick-Fil-A as well as the dismissal of Jamie Kuntz from the North Dakota State College of Science’s football team. Cyd is one of my favorite interviews!
It was also an honor to speak with Jamie Kuntz. He is a classy and intelligent young man. Most people have a hard time when they are outed and he is handling himself very well. I look forward to hearing about the next chapter of his life and hopefully, his football career!
Thanks also goes to Ryan Walsh of TV-22 outside of Boston for a great discussion on the Patriots and Bobby Valentine. It’s always a great time with Ryan.
It’s a pleasure to host shows that have social importance that transcend sports! Enjoy!
