LOCKHART STADIUM, Fort Lauderdale, FL
It’s been an interesting season so far for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers. They started the 2014 campaign red hot and had been ice cold since May 10. Things are starting to heat up again for the Lads from Lauderdale.
After opening the fall season with two straight shutout losses, the Strikers seem to be turning things around. After a 1-1 tie versus the hated New York Cosmos, their in-state rivals made the trip down I-75 to Lockhart. The Rowdies left the Fort with a 1-0 loss.
The game and the broadcast were awesome. Kamil Contofalsky gots his first clean sheet with Fort Lauderdale. After a barrage of constant pressure and shots, FaFa found the back of the net at the 72 minute mark to give the Strikers the much deserved three points.
The broadcast included great soccer, great fun and a number of great visits by Strikers past and present. At halftime, injured fullback Stefan Antonijevic joined us in the booth followed by Strikers legend Thomas Rongen. Rongen helped us open up the second half with great color commentary. For the postgame celebration, FaFa and Darnell King came into the SoFloRadio Broadcast Booth!
Strikers continue their busy week with a visit to Indianapolis to take on the Eleven on Wednesday and then they head north of the border to battle the Ottawa Fury on Saturday. Both games can be seen on NASLLive.com
Enjoy!

Stefan Antonijevic is a great defender! And a great Ambassador for the team. Can’t wait to see him back on the pitch!!
It’s a long season and Stefan played through some pain. The team is getting healthier and when they are, it’s going to be very interesting with all the talent they have!
