Tonight was a show I was very proud to host. The Chick-Fil-A controversy has sparked a great debate in the country. My position is clear, Dan Cathy and his company are entitled to their opinion but their opinion should not infringe on the rights or the happiness of anyone else. As a result of Cathy’s statements, I do not believe that Chick-Fil-A should have their name associated with a Bowl Game or any other sporting event.
I truly wish to thank two pioneers in sports for joining me as guests. Cyd Zeigler Jr. of OutSports.com and Hudson Taylor of athleteally.org were tremendous with me tonight. Both men were articulate and elevated my position of eliminating Chick-Fil-A from the sports landscape.
Adam and I had a great conversation throughout the show on the Olympics and some of the other stories of the day.
Sports is a great escape from the daily grind. Sports should inspire us and let us heal. I hope that out of the Chick-Fil-A message of intolerance we find acceptance for everyone in this country regardless of race, creed, gender, religion or sexual orientation!
