I truly believe that we put on one of the best sports radio shows in the world. Special thanks again to my producer Adam Cristo for an incredible job producing tonight.

We started the show with the biggest story of the day, the NCAA penalties against Penn State University in the wake of the Sandusky convictions and the Freeh Report. The NCAA came down with a penalty I believe was harsher than the Death Penalty. For all the reasons, listen to the podcast.

Thanks to Ari Russell of BeyondUSPorts.com for coming on to bring a very balanced look at the sanctions.

Cory Giger has had a very busy day but not too busy to talk with me. He made appearances on ESPN today as well as SILVERMAN: On Sports. The ESPN 1450 host and Altoona Mirror Sports Columnist, was fantastic bringing us into the (Nittany) Lions’ Den. We finished our discussion of this latest chapter in a very ugly book with Laura Deitsch to talk about the psychological aftermath of the tragedy and the announcement today.

Since Dan Cathy, the leader of Chick-Fil-A came out publicly last week against gay marriage and gay rights, wrote a column on why the chicken chain should not be associated with college athletics any longer. We discussed this on the show tonight.

I want to also thanks Nick Masuda of Golf Week magazine for another great discussion on golf and this week it was the Open won by 42 year old Ernie Els after a huge collapse by Adam Scott.

The show ended by me going “Off the Reservation” as I do from time to time. Tonight, OTR dealt with American Astronaut and Hero Sally Ride.
