What an interesting show tonight. I rarely talk about NASCAR but I opened the show talking about the novelty of the Daytona 500 racing for the first time ever on a Monday night under the lights. I made the prediction that FOX would have its highest ratings ever with this prime time event and that if the racing was good and Danica Patrick had a good finish that NASCAR could become more popular than ever. Well Danica was among the first racers out but it should be interesting to see what the ratings are anyway.

The major of the night was spent on the NBA and the All Star Weekend even though I did highlight a number of other stories including the prospect of Peyton Manning joining the Miami Dolphins and Robert Griffin III’s stock rising after his performance in Indy for the scouts. I also touched on the Rams putting their number two overall pick on the block.

The remainder of the evening was spent with NBA great Kenny Anderson. Kenny is definitely one of my favor guests for his candor and basketball knowledge. We talked about the NBA All Star events, why the super stars don’t dunk anymore and spent quality time talking about Jeremy Lin. Kenny was awesome breaking down his game, his attitude and his future. We also broke off traditional sports talk and discussed racism in 2012. As I always say, SILVERMAN: On Sports is not your typical sports show.
