Fly the W! The Cubs win! And just who is Katie Casey?

What a World Series. The goats is dead and so is the curse. Tonight we celebrate the Cubs in the grand SILVERMAN: On Sports fashion!

All of our guests tonight are long time Cubbies fans.

Rusty Silber is a Chicagoland sportscaster. He gave us the sports angle for the evening.

Thomas Doody is a member of the band Cryan’ Shames. Toad is his nickname and we had a great discussion on the (no longer) lovable losers as well as the great history of his band. And we got him to sing a Beatles tune.

Mark Dawson of The Grass Roots returned to the show to talk about his life as a Cubs fan and we got a great rock version of Go, Cubs, Go out of Mark.

Carl Giammarese of The Buckinghams made another appearance tonight and took a trip down his childhood with the boys from Wrigleyville. Carl and his bandmates sang the National Anthem this season at the famous ballpark and he has sung during the 7th Inning Stretch. That got me thinking about Take Me Out to the Ballgame. We talked about the extra verses of the song and that was an amazing way to finish up the show. Turns out the famous song was written and record originally in 1908, ironically the same year as the Cubs last title (before this year of course) and we played and talked about the original song.

So who is Katie Casey? Listen and find out!

Enjoy!
