The Fort Lauderdale Strikers are an unlikely side to be playing for a league title. Yet as a result of going eight straight matches without a loss, the number four seed has played their way into the NASL Championship Game.

One of the original teams from the Golden Age of the NASL, the Strikers traveled to Minnesota to face the top seed in the four team playoffs and defeated the Loons on penalty kicks. Tied after 90 minutes and 30 minutes of overtime, the Lads from Lauderdale outscored MinnU in the penalty kicks and advanced to the Final. The game will be played in San Antonio at Toyota Field. The Scorpions defeated the New York Cosmos in overtime to host the final game of the 2014 NASL Season.
