Three major topics for the evening.
A few years ago, Penn State was rocked by scandal. Lives were ruined by Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno’s reputation and career were tarnished. Paterno had many of his wins stripped away, the football program lost scholarships, the school was fined and there was a bowl ban instituted. After the Sandusky trial, it was time to heal. Not so fast folks. Some politicians decided they were going to so to reverse the penalties and they won. Cory Giger joined me in 2012 to discuss the story as it was unfolding and he came back into the Caddyshack now that the lawsuits gave just about everything back to Penn State but their dignity.
On Sunday, the AFC and NFC Championship Games were played. The NFC game was fantastic drama and the AFC was a snoozefest. That was until a new controversy emerge out of the Patriots camp. To discuss the games, to discuss the Super Bowl matchups and to discuss Deflate Gate, I brought in Barry Barnes.
The Fort Lauderdale Strikers finished the 2014 NASL season as runner-ups. Losing to the San Antonio Scorpions 2-1 was a difficult loss to suffer and their off season has been a series of ups and downs. The 2015 roster has been slow to develop but through a trade with those champions from the Alamo city, the Strikers have acquired fullback Johnathan Borrajo. JB joined me for a frank conversation about his career, his thoughts on his new team and how much he is looking forward to being a member of the South Florida community.
Enjoy!
